A HOLISTIC APPROACH WITH DRAMATIC RESULTS
SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
An array of low-energy acoustic wave pulsations enhancing the body’s ability to heal through hyperstimulation that creates an extraordinary healing effect.
The results are less pain, reduced swelling, and increased range of motion in the affected areas.
What is Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave Therapy, also known as ESWT or Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy, is a non-surgical way of treating a wide array of soft tissue conditions. It is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes an array of low-energy acoustic wave pulsations that are administered through the skin of the injured area, enhancing the body’s natural healing process to improve regenerative potential. This FDA-approved technology is quickly becoming a popular and successful treatment for healing connective tissue injuries.
Shockwave Technology
Shockwave Technology is a non-invasive therapy that, through a mechanical handpiece, generates a mechanical pressure wave which is transferred to the body via an applicator head to reduce adhesions (scarring) in muscle, ligaments, and tendons. These pressure waves enhance the body’s ability to heal through hyperstimulation by increasing cell permeability, increasing cell membrane and tissue circulation, and activating the body’s healing process. The process is two-fold as it stimulates fibroblasts, responsible for healing connective tissue, and osteoblasts, which are the bone cells responsible for new bone growth and healing.
This procedure is performed in the office with the benefit of patients often being able to return to work and exercise immediately.
